Step into elsewhere—a captivating world inspired by Southeast Asian folklore, Peranakan stories and imaginative realms—as Armenian Street and the Peranakan Museum transform after dark for the Singapore Night Festival.
Explore immersive art installations, live music, dance and theatre performances, creative workshops, lively markets and community-led programmes.

Programme highlights include:

The Great Mythical Stampede – Step into an immersive world by CHUNKIE, where mythical creatures from the Peranakan Museum’s collection break free from the objects they inhabit. Winged horses soar from carved wood, lion-dogs leap from porcelain, and phoenixes burst from embroidered silk as Armenian Street becomes a portal to “elsewhere”.

The Other Night – Wander through a marketplace of myth, magic and mischief, presented by Wormhole and friends. Meet fortune tellers, makers and wandering storytellers, and browse a curious selection of wares from independent local vendors across four evenings.

The Somewhere Else Stage – Armenian Street transforms into a crossroads of music, dance and theatre, with four nights of performances spanning Dikir Barat, live improvisation, dream-pop, Arabic music, Chinese opera, noise rock, bellydance and puppetry. The line-up features local and regional acts including Kelana Purba, Shye, The Samrah Club, Tok Tok Chiang, Krunkle, NADA and Yogyakarta-based Papermoon Puppet Theatre.

Step into the Wayang with Gunong Sayang – Follow performers from Gunong Sayang through the Peranakan Museum’s galleries in an immersive Wayang Peranakan experience, as song, dance and theatre bring the museum’s stories to life.
Final Weekend Highlights:
On Friday, 4 September, catch Journey to the West by Tok Tok Chiang & Lao Sai Tao Yuan, an interactive Chinese opera and cultural performance, followed by a film screening of MARACOSA, a non-verbal puppet performance by Yogyakarta-based Papermoon Puppet Theatre, exploring how a grandmother and her grandchild find new ways to embrace tradition.
On Saturday, 5 September, enjoy a vibrant bellydance performance by Dance Angels led by Singaporean bellydance artist Angelina Tay, with Francesca Harriman, and Zoey Lee, and NADA, a visual arts and sound project that explores the myth and synthetic history of a fabricated group of the same name.
